This is a very enjoyable and readable “homespun story”. Ms. Jameson does a commendable job of bringing the reader into the details of this family’s challenges as they deal with their feelings of abandonment and betrayal. Before the story was done, I felt like I was part of the family and had walked with them through their ups and downs. The book is spiced with a good dose of humor and the author does a timely job of weaving an unexpected twist into the already intriguing tale. In addition, the reader is gifted with some good “lagniappe” in the form of delicious-sounding Southern recipes sprinkled throughout the book…nice. I think Ms. Jameson is a promising writer and I look forward to her next book.
