Short Version:I feel this filter system is one of the best around. The taste is great, but what makes this stand apart from the competition is the support and ease of install. With color coded jacks and hoses, with much of the system preassembled, the install can be done by anyone. Including me, someone who isn't great with these types of things.Long Version:I felt compelled to write this review after my experience with the company support. They didn't ask, or indicate, or even hint at a request for a review. But, their support was leaps and bounds above many out there, that I felt it worthwhile to give a review. The issue I ran into is that my Ballast (the converter for AC -> UV Bulb) wasn't working. I thought it was the bulb, and I was very tempted to just live with without the UV filtering. I thought it wasn't worth the trouble. But, in the end, I emailed the company about it.On the response, they indicated some debugging tips, some of which I totally ignored (much of it seemed incredibly obvious like not using the same outlet as the garbage disposal). I was entirely confident it was the bulb, and was irritated with the response I got. I threw away the bulb.I bought replacement bulbs (2x of them, to be precise), and after testing one and it not working, I reread their message more carefully, and decided to try out all the steps they mentioned. It wasn't the bulb at all that was the problem, but the Ballast that was the issue. Had I followed their instructions more carefully, I would have saved myself a lot of headache, and money. When I emailed back with video evidence of the Ballast not acting properly, I also mentioned that I threw away the bulb. The bulb was totally irrelevant to the debugging procedure (my mind, at first, didn't think it was irrelevant). Needless to say, they sent me a replacement for not only the Ballast, but also for the bulb I threw away.To reiterate. I screwed up, I threw away the bulb. That was my fault, and I mentioned as much in my response. But, in their effort for good customer service, and to build customer relations, they sent me a replacement bulb and I didn't even ask (minus the very first response when I was sure it was the bulb). They didn't have to do this. A replacement ballast, sure, but the bulb too? That's great customer support that I rarely see, didn't expect, and frankly didn't deserve. So that's the main reason for my review here. They deserve it, and is the least I could do. They are an excellent company. Now regarding the system itself. The install itself took me ~ 2 hours to complete, and this was with other repairs I was doing under the sink. As I mentioned in the "short version", the unit is near half complete upon arrival. The main challenge for the end user is mounting the unit under the sink (which, note this thing is huge - so account for that), and cut various cabling and attach them. There's some drilling (drain hose), as well as some water work with the splitter. But, it's not very hard.I bought a water quality meter before the unit arrived and tested my water. I was using a Pur water filter, and my quality was around 300 (on the high end for even a carbon faucet filter). Strangely, not too much less than with it off (something like 360). The Pur water filter took out the chlorine and brought some measures down, but that's about it. The RO system did far more. My measure got around 30 or so after some flushes, and brought everything (on my paper measures) down to near or at 0. The Alkaline unit is probably why I even measured around 30 or so with the digital tester. The one warning I would like to make about the device. Read the instructions very, very, very carefully. I mean incredibly carefully. There's a system flush operation that really should be done exactly as described in the manual. I've seen some reviews about bad taste that made me think they messed up on this step. The initial flush (prime flush) doesn't even use the tank, messing up that alone likely will have poor taste for awhile because you're introducing filter byproduct into the tank and that's going to be hard to pull out. As I said a few times now, read that part of the instruction manual very carefully and don't screw it up.Excellent unit though, and even better customer support. Thank you for assisting in my Ballast issue.
