I really enjoyed this novel. I picked this up as a recommendation from a friend and I was very happy that I did. The book introduces a lot of well thought out and complex characters. It introduces you to the world, and its particular details in a slow and concise method. I never felt like not knowing anything about the world of Aldea was never a hindrance to my enjoyment of the story.I enjoy each of the characters for who they are, and how they are represented, and I enjoyed watching them grow. Even characters that would typically throw away characters are given the time and attention to make them breath life into the story.I cherish that the author represented multiple genders, orientations, and relationship models in this story.The book ended in a very pleasant way, and made me want more. I look forward to a sequel.
