We have had difficulties with leaving the water bowl in our dog’s cage for quite some time now. He would also knock it over and thus leave water splattered everywhere – even on himself! Since we are not home we could not even clean it up in time before it started to gain an off putting smell.We decided to try this water dispenser to see if it did any better. At first, the dog refused to use it. It is very unconventional for dogs to use a dripper such as this if they have never used one before. Just remember you are going to have to train the dog a few times that this is their source of water while they are locked in the cage.However, once our dog figured out how the water dispenser operates, it was smooth sailing. He would often use it even when he is not locked in the cage. We also have a camera that we use to watch him when we are not home and we have seen him drink from the dispenser.Another problem that this solved was the dog’s tendency to relieve himself in the cage. After all, the water dispenser only dispenses small increments of water thus making the dog unlikely to need to go out during the typical work day.The dispenser is the perfect size and attached easily to his cage.
